Discover Alaska: Stories That Inspire

Alaska: A Land Once Bought Cheap, Now Priceless

Did you know Alaska once belonged to Russia? In 1867, the U.S. bought this icy land for just $7.2 million—only 2 cents per acre. Dubbed "a doomed purchase" at the time, it soon proved to be rich with gold, oil, stunning landscapes, and wild nature.

Today, Alaska isn’t just one of the most beautiful states in America—it's an invitation to an epic journey where history and nature walk side by side.

On a cruise, you don’t just see glaciers. You sail on waters where empires once began. Choose a shore excursion and discover more onboard.

Who discovered Alaska for Russia?

Russian travelers began to approach the western lands of North America back in the 17th century. The first of our compatriots to set foot on the coast of Alaska could be the sailors of the expedition of Cossack and explorer Semyon Dezhnev. In 1648, his ships successfully passed through the strait that separates Eurasia from America — in 80 years it will be called the Bering Sea. Then, while sailing on the high seas, several ships were lost at once. Some historians still believe that the lost sailors could have landed on the shores of Alaska and found refuge with the locals. However, this is just a guess.

In the Heart of the Wild: Alaska Through Animal Eyes

Grizzly bears, whales, eagles, sea otters, and moose—Alaska is one of the last places on Earth where nature truly roams free.

Watch bears fishing in rivers, witness whale migrations from your cruise balcony. Go kayaking among glaciers or take a helicopter tour.

This isn’t a zoo. It’s real life. Each animal here is a symbol of strength, survival, and beauty—and you become part of that story.

The Indigenous People: Soul and Voice of Alaska

Alaska is home to ancient cultures: Inuit, Aleut, Tlingit, and Yupik. Their legends live in wood carvings, dances, costumes, and deep harmony with the land.

Visit native villages during your cruise. Learn how they built kayaks, caught fish, and survived in the permafrost.

Find unique handmade souvenirs—bone jewelry, amulets, carved masks.

Alaska isn’t just glaciers. It’s living stories waiting for you.

The Gold Rush: How Alaska Changed Thousands of Lives

In 1896, gold was discovered in the Klondike near modern Alaska. Thousands of men and women dropped everything and headed north, chasing dreams of fortune.

Some struck gold. Most didn’t. But the spirit of adventure, love for freedom, and awe of the northern wilds remained forever.

5 Reasons to Fall in Love with Alaska on Your First Cruise

1. Glaciers—majestic and ancient. When a house-sized block crashes into the sea, you hold your breath.

2. Cities born at the edge of civilization—Sitka, Juneau, Ketchikan: a mix of Native, Russian, and American cultures.

3. Local cuisine—salmon, crab, the freshest seafood. Straight from the sea to your plate.

4. Northern Lights & midnight sun—at certain times, the sky comes alive with color.

5. Adventures for everyone—from glacier-view spas to mountain treks and fjord flights.

FAQ
Katie:
Who is the right person for an Alaska cruise?
Support:
Our cruise is designed for those who are ready for discoveries— both external and internal.
You will find unique locations in Alaska with its wildlife, glaciers, national parks and harsh but majestic beauty.
But the main thing is the people who will be there.
You will be accompanied by kind, open, educated, and self—respecting people who value meaning, sincere conversations, and strive to make true friends - not only for the duration of the trip, but also for a long life.
Katie:
What does the cruise program include?
Support:
Our journey is divided into two parts: sea and land. In the marine part, you will embark on an unforgettable trip on a luxury cruise ship, where you will find a rich program, including dance and artistic shows, themed bars, fine restaurants with signature cuisine from famous chefs, a casino, as well as a spa area with massage, sauna, Jacuzzi and swimming pool. In addition, on the ship, especially for our guests “Alaska among our own”, we organize separate meetings and events in a cozy, friendly atmosphere where our guests can really get closer, get to know each other and socialize.
The ground part will start from Vancouver, and then we will visit cities such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Anchorage. Our itinerary also includes unique natural features such as Hubbard Glacier, College Fjord, and the famous Denali National Park. Then we will go to mt. McKinley Princesses, Denali Princesses and finish our trip in the city of Fairbanks.
Katie:
How to Get Home from Fairbanks?
Support:
There are several ways to leave Fairbanks, depending on your final destination.
The fastest and most convenient option is by plane. Fairbanks International Airport offers both direct and connecting flights to major U.S. cities, most often via Anchorage or Seattle. Alaska Airlines and other carriers provide regular flights to cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Denver, Portland, Salt Lake City, and more. The approximate cost of a ticket to Los Angeles starts at $178, and to New York — from $300 and up.
If you prefer traveling by land, you can take a train or bus to Anchorage: by train, the journey takes about 11 hours and 40 minutes and costs $150–$509; by bus, it takes about 12 hours and 47 minutes and costs $268–$308. Driving to Anchorage takes about 6 hours and 42 minutes (360 miles), with fuel costs around $66–$95. You can also drive through Canada to the continental U.S., but this option takes more time and requires a border crossing.
Within Fairbanks, taxis and shuttle buses are available to get you to the airport or train station.
Your choice of route depends on your preferences and final destination, but most travelers opt for flying as the fastest and most comfortable way to get home.
